During January NHS Hertfordshire's health bus is calling at a stop near you.

During this very cold weather NHS Hertfordshire is asking people to look out for elderly friends and neighbours. Check they're safe and well through the winter. Make sure they're warm enough and have stocks of food and medicines so they don't need to go out in the snow and ice.

Did you know that wasted medicines cost NHS Hertfordshire £7 million each year, this means that about one in every 20 medicines prescribed is unused and that this is money that could be spent on 1400 hip operations, 980 heart by-pass operations or 210 community nurses?

It's a familiar sight outside office, shops and restaurants. Groups of smokers huddled together or individuals talking and texting on their phones passing the time whilst they have a cigarette.
