NHS Hertfordshire Any Qualified Provider (AQP) Community Services
The Government has committed to extending choice of Any Qualified Provider (AQP) for appropriate services.
Hertfordshire PCT Commissioners are committed to work with Primary Care Clinicians, Acute Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups to implement this initiative, and follow the Department of Health Principles and Rules for Cooperation and Competition in commissioning these AQP services.
Early in 2012 the first three services were chosen which will benefit the local population by the implementation of patient choice of Any Qualified Provider:
- Minor Oral Surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Time Limited Primary Care Counselling
The PCT advertised the AQP Offer in May. Applications have now been evaluated and the PCT Executive Committee have accredited the following providers subject to service mobilisation and final PCT Board approval. The new contracts will be in place from 1st October 2012.

Competition Dispute Resolution Process
The national competition panel requires that all efforts are made to resolve disputes locally and in that regard NHS Hertfordshire have set up a competition dispute resolution process. This is based on the national principles and rules of cooperation and competition and will handle disputes about the application of and adherence to these principles and rules.
